Very Simple Motivation Tip

Highlight every training session
This is how I want my calendar to look by the end of each month.  Lots of colour!

Every time I train, I write it on my calendar.  I log the distance I run and then highlight it, at the end of the week I add it up and put the total in the margin.  You could log any type of training, it doesn't have to be running.  As the page fills up with more and more colour, I feel I am accomplishing something. 

I know a lot of people log their training on their phones or online, but I find that if it isn't in front of my face each day, then it really makes no impact on my life.  I need visual reminders for encouragement.

I start each month with a page which looks like this...

And it slowly builds up to become a colourful masterpiece as I add training sessions.  If it doesn't then I am motivated to get training as I want to see colour spread all over the page.

I have been doing this for about three or four years, and it is so simple yet works really well.  And, wherever I go in the world I can easily slot my calendar into the back of my bag and take it with me.
