Hi, I'm Emma. Welcome to my website. I'm an artist, athlete and author. Originally from Derby, England, I've now settled in beautiful Reefton, New Zealand. I've been very lucky to explore this big, beautiful world we live in through many epic adventures, from running across Africa to roller-skating across The Netherlands. If you'd like to learn more about my adventures click here. In 2017, unfortunately my adventures came to an end when I struggled with an undiagnosable leg injury. It was at this point that I had a change of career as I could no longer stand all day on my leg which was vital to being a rock-climbing instructor. I returned to a childhood passion of mine which was creating art. Over the past few years I expanded my skills and developed a portfolio of work which now sees me working as a full time artist. |
After New Zealand's lockdown in 2020, I bit the bullet and committed to illustrating a children's book I had written about my Africa run. Finally, in November 2020, two years after writing the first draft, I published my very own vibrant, inspiring kid's book.
They say good things come to those who wait, and four years after the onset of my leg problem I am back to running and racing again. The time away from running has given me a more balanced outlook on life and taught me so many lessons I may not have otherwise learned, There are big things on the horizon for both my running and my art.
