Hi, I'm Emma and I'm an artist, athlete, author and speaker.
Originally from Derby, England, I'm now based in beautiful New Zealand. I've spent years doing epic adventures in this big, amazing world we live in, from running across Africa to roller-skating across The Netherlands. In 2017, my adventures came to an end when I struggled with an undiagnosable leg injury. I had to change my career as I couldn't spend all day standing on my leg, which is pretty pivotal as a rock-climbing instructor. I returned to my childhood passion of art, expanded my skills and now work as a full time artist, specialising recently in graphite pencil drawings of New Zealand native birds. In 2020 I wrote, illustrated and published a children's book about my adventure of running 4,000km across Africa, with the hope of inspiring kids across the world. They say good things come to those who wait, and four years after my leg problem started, I'm finally back running and racing again. I've learnt many lessons, and have a more balanced outlook on life now. I'm excited for big things coming up for both my running and my art. |
