In 2011, I became the first female to run the length of the Freedom Trail in South Africa. The Freedom Trail is a route used for a mountain bike race, the Freedom Challenge, which spans from Durban to Cape town, approximately 2400km. I decided to run this as a way of raising money for my local wildlife centre in Cheshire. Through various fundraising events and the run itself, I managed to raise over £11,000 for RSPCA Stapeley Grange Wildlife Centre. With only my brother for support on his mountain bike (carrying all the kit), the journey took us 57 days.
