Hatupatu the Falcon - Limited Edition Giclee Print
Are you looking for a stunning picture of a New Zealand native bird for your wall? Then look no further than this print of a detailed graphite pencil drawing of the Karearea (New Zealand Falcon), the most threatened bird of prey in Aotearoa.
This is Hatupatu, the well-known falcon who called Rotorua's Government Gardens his home. One of the longest-living male falcons of known age in the wild, he was hatched in November 2013 at Wingspan Bird Sanctuary, captive bred from permanently injured falcons. Named after the famous Te Arawa warrior of local history, he lived for several years before sadly being hit by a car in 2021.
